Restoring a historic building requires a lot of thoughtful consideration, a well trained eye and a talent for creating a modern space while still respecting the building’s history and bones. Today’s Inspiring Interior is a historic building located in Ghent, Belgium that was carefully restored in 2013 by Hans Verstuyft Architects. This stunning 19th building has been transformed into a spacious and modern home with stong historic details. The contrast of the timber flooring and minimalist esthetic against the high ornately carved ceiling is memorable, unique and breathtaking. Hans Verstuyft Architects have done an incredible job on this project and I look forward to seeing what other projects they develop in the future.
